Sunflowers

We planted sunflowers in June. Look how much they have grown.

Trees

Today Mark Moran from Laois county council came in to our school for National Trees Week. He brought in some beech and holly trees and he helped us to plant them.Now we have a wide selection of trees in our school. We would like to say thanks to Mark for bringing in the trees and John Moran from Laois County Council who came in to help us plant the trees as well.

 

 

Colouring Competition

We  had a colouring competition for all classes to help us to remember to turn off taps and save water. the winner of the competition were Rika Aoibheann and Alex in Junior and Senior Infants. James, Cody and Michael in first and second class.  Lorna. Clodagh and Aoife in third and fourth class. Emily, Siobhan in fifth and sixth class.  The winning posters are displayed over the taps in eeach classroom and each winner recieved a pack of colours. All enteries were of high Standard and it was not easy to pick the winners. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

Installing water saving Hippos

To install the hippos we had to take the top off the cistern and as we were putting the hippos in the cistern we had to fill it with water. With the hippo in place we flushed the toilet. It take 3-4 flushes before the hippo starts saving water.
