Plants Need Water

1st & 2nd Class were very busy investigating How Plants Drink.

DSCF1041First they got some jars and filled them with water. They marked the water level and added food colouring. Then they put a celery stick into the jars and left them overnight.

The next day the water level in the jars had dropped and you could see thin red lines of coloured water running the

length of the celery stalk. This was because the celery (the plant) had drank the water!!
