Heineken Cup comes to Killeen
On Monday 22nd October the Heineken Cup visited our school. Wes Witten, Carlow RFC and Athy RFC schools coach, brought the cup with him. Wes told us how Leinster won the cup last May for the 3rd time and spoke about rugby to all the children. He encouraged everyone to try it with their local club and told us that he will be in the school after Christmas to coach Tag Rugby with the older classes. Everyone got to hold the cup and to ask questions. We found out that the cup weighs nearly 10kg and is 28 inches tall. The best question came from Ms. Byrne’s room when they asked would it be coming back every year? We hope so!!!
